A man was arrested Saturday after police found 300 cats packed in
three freezers in his Sacramento home, the Sacramento Bee reports.

When police entered the house of Michael Louis Vondueren, 47, which
was littered with cat feces, they also found 30 cats that were still
alive, according the the Bee.

Vondueren, who was living in the house with his 81-year-old mother,
was arrested on suspicion of possession of an automatic weapon and
obstructing police officers. The cats were removed by animal control
workers.
